Pre-Marital/Re-marriage

Pre-Marital/Re-marriage

Dating couples thinking about whether to marry, and engaged couples will benefit from couples therapy. Couples are recommended to begin sessions 3-6 months before wedding. As it can be hectic planning the wedding event, starting therapy sooner will likely prepare you with less stress.

Couples therapy covers issues around money, sex, children, religion and world view, in-laws and family roles/expectations, conflict resolution skills, intimacy and communication. Using the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment ($30/couple) is not required but encouraged as it may streamline premarital sessions to cover the full range of compatibility issues for couples.

Marriages ending in the first seven years are primarily due to money issues. Marriages that end after seven years are primarily due to infidelity and/or in-law issues. Couples therapy going into marriage is a priceless investment to avoid marriage-breaking issues.
