Marital/Couples Therapy

Marital/Couples Therapy

Marital/Couples therapy is beneficial for those who have been living life together for a period of time. Therapy is a way to get unstuck from the root of a problem or mend what has been broken in the relationship often more quickly and thoroughly than without. Therapy is also a way to enhance and enrich your relationship even if no particular conflict has come up.

Marital/Couples therapy can include couples sessions and/or individual sessions with each. Even if you are the only one willing to come to therapy, your relationship can benefit. Couples will benefit from therapy to address but are not limited to the following:

  • Stuck in the same unwanted patterns
  • Breach of trust or affair
  • Any kind of abuse in the past or present
  • Life transition such as a career change, becoming empty-nesters, blending families,
taking on an elderly or sick relative
  • Facing a source of grief or loss
  • Co-dependence or addiction.
  • Intimacy and communication issues
  • Difference in parenting styles
  • Money disagreement

Using the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment ($30/couple) is not required but is an option that may streamline sessions by gathering each person’s view on a range of issues and comparing them as a couple.
